gunman after a deadly shooting in southest. let's get right to jummy olabanji at the live desk with details. larry, autria -- that shooting happening around 12:30 this morning in southeast. police tell us -- a man with a cane was shot in the head on naylor road near the intersection with fairlawn ave. just moments ago - police told us that shooting is now a homicide. authorities have

follow us on twitter, and download our abc-7 app right to your smartphone to get the latest news at your fingertips. right now - d-c police are looking for two more missing teens. late last night, police put out an alert for 16-year-old anjel burl. she hasn't been seen since wednesday. the last place burl was spotted was on 43rd road in northeast. and another critical missing teen in southeast. police say 17-year-old shani burriss was last seen on stanton road on tuesday. anyone with information about either of their wearabouts should call police. coming up at 7:45 - we'll have more on the new outrage over missing teens in the district. all eyes on capitol hill... again. the health care vote to repeal and replace obamacare is expected today -- after being postponed yesterday. the big question -- do republicans have enough support? houe

stepped out for a quick errand and thats when someone stole the car an amber alety has been issued for that white, 4-door 20-16 accord boys are jayden and carlos cortez no suspect info a prince george's county police officer is suspended with pay, after being arrested for alleged drunk driving. police say officer christopher brown clipped a tractor trailer on the beltway yesterday, then crashed his cruiser into a guardrail. he left, and was arrested after he returned. back in 2012, officer brown pleaded guilty to crashing a cruiser while drunk. he was disciplined but not fired. police chief hank stawinski says he finds the situation "gravely troubling." he says he'll take action when he has all the facts. happening today. imprisoned former-football coach jerry sansky is scheduled to be in court for an appeal hearin.

a 30-60 year prison sentence for sexually assaulting children. the former penn state football coach's arrest- sparked a huge investigation, and lead to criminal charges against three university officials who allegedly turned a blind eye to the abuse for years. also happening today.. the man accused of firing shots inside a northwest d.c. pizza restaurant has a plea agreement hearing. edgar welch reached the deal wednesday with prosecutors. it's expected to be finalized today. welsh allegedly read a fake news report that comet ping pong restaurant was a front for a child sex ring. he says he drove to d.c. from north carolina, intent on rescuing the children. new developments -- about a lawsuit filed after those wild protests during the presidential inauguration. more than 200 people were arrested that day. now the group behind the lawsuit claims m-p-d and interim chief peter newsham refuse to release records that should be made available to the public under the first amendment - and federal laws. the suit demands no council vote to

for the person who shot a man in a movie theater parking lot. it happened last night on branch avenue in temple hills. the victim was inside a vehicle, when he was shot in the upper body. he was taken to the hospital in critical condition. police say the shooting does not

random. we continue to follow a tragic story out of calvert county. an infant--killed in a dog attack. first responders rushed to a home on prancer court in lusby thursday afternoon where an 8-month-old boy was being attacked by a family dog. once at the scene, deputies opened fire on the dog--killing it to stop the attack. but it was too late..the infant died from his injuries. officials are expected to give an update on the incident this afternoon. turning now to the health care vote.. republicans will try again today to pass the bill. house leaders called off the vote yesterday, amid concerns there wasn't enough support. janai norman has more. it's 7:xx and things are heating up again. eileen whelan tells

on terror -- another person has died after the attack in london on wednesday, and more arrests have been made! jummy olabanji is at the live desk with the new details. jummy? london's top anti-terror officer just announced two more "significant arrests" have been made. nine people are currently in custody, one other has been released on bail. authorities say a fourth victim has now died -- he is a 75-year-old man. one american is among the dead. utah resident kurt cochran and his wife were celebrating their 25-th wedding anniversary. cochran attended high school in cumberland maryland. police think the attacker -- 52-year-old khalid masood-- acted alone. he was known to authorities as an islamic extremist. the suspect drove his car into crowds of people in london on wednesday afternoon, before stabbing a police officer to death at the houses of parliament. he was then shot and killed by police. larry, autria, back to you. happening right now- dc police need your help to find two missing t

mentioned he wanted a canoe -- he didn't expect for one to show up at his doorstep. but it did. now his bucket list dream is coming true! 85-year-old jim goetschius (good-chus) -a korean war vet - wants to canoe around cape cod this summer. he told the local police chief about his dream, and he was on the case. a donor came forward. now good-chus couldn't be happier. for him, it's about memories -- like seeing dolphins on a trip he took a decade ago. goetschius is now starting a new mission- to provide canoes to veterans- as a means of necessary relaxation.
